To keep our teeth healthy, we take care of them on a daily basis and apply various caries-preventing measures. The most important element in reducing the possibility of caries is fluoride. While we desperately need calcium during the formation of tooth buds, we turn to fluoride-containing products when strengthening the already erupted teeth. The simplest and most commonly used are toothpastes and mouthwashes with fluorine compounds.

When is additional dental fluoridation needed?

If You see demineralization stains on the enamel surface, a lot of caries-damaged teeth that have the root surface exposed, we recommend applying fluoride gel or foam. These remedies come in a pleasant fruity taste, making them great for kids to enjoy. And the procedure is not complicated at all: gel or foam is added to an individual spoon, then placed in the mouth and held for a few minutes after biting. Depending on the condition of the teeth, it is recommended to perform such a procedure 2-4 times a year.

Fluoride varnish is used to treat single sensitive teeth or to promote enamel remineralization.

Procedure: A small amount of fluoride varnish is applied to the previously cleaned tooth necks or enamel and air-dried after a minute.
